Second Step

Today we talked about showing that we care and helping are signs of empathy.  We practiced verbally expressing or showing we care about someone.  We talked about a boy, Lonny, who has lost his new puppy.  Lonny's friend, Simon, heard that the puppy was lost and has come over to see Lonny.  We discussed the picture and noticed that when someone is sad their eyes might be looking down, their hands could be  holding up their chin, and  their mouth could be turned down.  We also discussed how Simon showed he cared and what he did for Lonny to show he cares.

We  did a little role playing to practice, which was a lot of fun.  So, now we should know how to show someone that we care by saying or doing something for them!
