December News

Can you believe it is December already? It seems like yesterday we were just starting school and before you know it, we will be celebrating the new year and the school year will be half over! We have been so busy in Pre-K this year, that time has really flown by.

We are continuing our Colors Theme this month. We will be visiting the art room soon to do some color mixing. More news will follow! Don't forget that Friday the 5th will be color day! Make sure you child picks a certain color to wear. There will be a lot of fun surprises to come on Color Day!

During the next few weeks of December, we will be discussing how different holidays and traditions use light to portray their celebrations and beliefs. If you would like to come in and talk to the class about your families tradition during the month of December, please let us know as soon as possible.

Our Lower School Holiday Gathering will be Thursday, December 18th at 2:00. Pre-K will be singing a holiday song, so you don't want to miss your little one! Pre-K through 4th will be participating in this very memorable experience. It will take place in the gym. When the program is over, we will walk, as a class ,back to the Pre-K classroom and you will then be able to pick up your child for the start of our Winter Break!

Friday, December 19th... No School! It is our first official day of vacation!

If you haven't sent in warm, winter clothes for your child's extra-clothes bin... please do so ASAP! We will then send home the summer clothes via backpack. To help us out, if you do send in extra clothes, please put a note in your child's folder to let us know that the clothes are in the backpack. We do not regularly check backpacks and we would not want to miss them! Thank you.

We will be sending home P.E. shoes on the last P.E. day before break. We do this so that you can check the size and/or condition of the shoes. Their little feet tend to grow fast and sometimes you don't even know it! Please make sure you send the shoes back when we return to school in January. If you need to send in new shoes, please make sure your child's name is written somewhere on or in the shoes.
